Mike Spellcheck, RH, 10-6, 3.94 vs Waino, 11-5, 5.00 ERA

The Cardinals swept the Braves in Atlanta in their last meeting the 1st week of May..

Foltynewicz struggled in his previous start vs the Cardinals allowing seven earned runs in four innings on May 5.

Waino only lasted 3 innings his last start but once again got bailed-out by great run support.

Waino needs 4 Ks for his 8th 100K season, trailing only Gibby's 14 seasons in Cardinal history.

Those Pirates are suddenly lurking as well. It's starting to look like this might come down to the last two weeks of the year when everyone plays each other.

Since we're playing the Braves and Matt Adams is coming to town, there are 8 players who started the season in the Cardinals' organization with 14 or more MLB home runs this season. DeJong (16), Adams (16), Carpenter (15), Gyorko (15), Fowler (15), Molina (14), Pham (14), and Grichuk (14). And you could put them all in a lineup without playing someone out of position.

Since June 7th, the Cardinals have the second most wins in baseball with 33. The Dodgers at #1 have won 46.
